Friends of Texarkana Public Library

Friends of Texarkana Public Library, founded in 1981, is a not-for-profit organization for people interested in books and libraries. The purpose is to stimulate public interest in the library, purchase library materials, and support other programs of the library. To be able to realize these goals, Friends sells memberships in its organization and also used books, which are donated to the Friends by the community citizens. Friends volunteers spend many hours taking the donated books through a process of sorting and shelving. The Friends Used Bookstore at 320 West Broad is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Friday and the last Friday and Saturday of each month.
