The Ellis Island Immigrant Cookbook, by Tom Bernardin, spiral bound hardcover, Wimmer Brothers, 1993, third printing, 254 pages with black and white photographs and illustrations, index to recipes and illustrations.  This would be a nice addition to a cookbook collection for it is rather unique in the historical information and recipes that  it contains.  As the immigrants came through Ellis Island they brought their recipes from the old country; these recipes were sent in by Ellis Island immigrants and  descendents throughout America after a recipe search announced in leading U.S. newspapers.  The book gives comprehensive information on Ellis Island along with photographs and diagrams and maps.
