The mission of the
A Library card is required in order to check out material from
the Library. All residents age four and up within the city limits of
Library cards have a
permanent membership number and are renewable yearly. Replacement cost is
$1.00 for a lost card. The patron is responsible for renewing their card. A
parent must be present to obtain or renew a card for children under 17. Parents
may renew cards for children under 17.
Memberships
for the homebound are available.
New patrons may check out two items until they receive
their membership card in the mail. Once the patron has received the card,
a total of 24 items may be checked out in any combination of items listed
below:
- Books, Books-On-Tape,
Records, CD-ROM, Audio Tapes, Compact Discs, Filmstrips,
Multi-Media Kits, Videocassettes, Vertical File Materials.
The total may include
only 4 DVDs and 1 telecaptioner.
All items except "Hot Reads" and DVDs
are checked out for 21 days and may be renewed only once by phone, over the
Internet, or in-house. "Hot Reads" are popular materials that check
out for 7 days and may not be renewed.
Reference materials and magazines may not be checked
out Except for the older magazine issues.
Return all material to the Bookdrop at the Circulation
Desk. Book and Video drops are located on each side of the front entrance
for returning material when the Library is closed. Date due cards must be
returned with the material when checked in. There is a $1.00 charge for
lost Date due cards.

There is a .25 per
calendar day fine, until the return, up to the cost of the book, record, tape,
compact discs, film-strip, multi-media kit, or vertical file material. A fine
of $2.00 per calendar day, until the return, up to the cost of the CD-ROM,
videos or telecaptioners. Fines are due when overdue material is
returned. Returning overdue items in the book drop stops the fine, which then
may be paid on the next visit to the library.
