Friends of Texarkana Public Library

Friends of Texarkana Public Library, founded in 1981, is a not-for-profit organization for people interested in books and libraries. The purpose is to stimulate public interest in the library, purchase library materials, and support other programs of the library. To be able to realize these goals, Friends sells memberships in its organization and also used books, which are donated to the Friends by the community citizens. Friends volunteers spend many hours taking the donated books through a process of sorting and shelving. The Friends Used Bookstore at 322 West Broad is open to the public on the last full weekend of each month; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Friends also has an online used bookstore, a web site which you can view by clicking the link on the left side of this page. Friends Online Bookstore offers books of special interest, less common books, and out-of-print books. It was begun in 2005 and ships books to buyers in the USA and foreign countries.

Friends also sells selected books on eBay. You may use the eBay auction link on the left to find out more about our auctions. If we currently have a auction running, you are invited to participate.
